Been working on this project for a while, had lots of permits to get signed off on, if you know what I mean. If you’ve done any hillside building you know it’s not for the inexperienced, lots to know and lots of things that can go wrong, but we’ve done this many times and experience has taught us what works and what doesn’t so it’s business as usual with the crew. It’s a bit over engineered, but that’s the way you do it on a hillside, better safe than sorry.
So today is the big day and we’re pouring the foundation for the deck, only problem so far is the cement trucks are running a little behind but we can work with that. Everything else has gone smoothly, we’re even a little ahead of where we thought we’d be, and that’s a nice feeling.
Can’t wait to finish this project, owners are going to have a spectacular deck over looking West LA, even has a view of the Getty (just in time for summer dining outside). Once we have the hillside foundation poured we will start building the deck, should go pretty fast from that point on. The deck will stretch the length of the house so all the rooms back there, including the living room, will have quite impressive views. Can’t wait to get it done and show you.
